1. Historic: First vaccine administered in Colombia.

Colombia started vaccinating its medical personnel towards its goal of achieving “herd immunity”. 50,000 doses arrived this week and several more are set to do so in the coming weeks. Sinovac and Pfizer are at the forefront of this vaccination process. 

2. Removal of mobilization restrictions.

Cali and Bogotá announced that measures that limit the dates in which citizens can enter certain establishments are overturned. This is a step forward towards economic reactivation and a new reality with the first vaccine administered in the country.

3. Development of the electronic payroll.

Colombia is premiering a regulation through which the electronic invoicing system develops the functionality of electronic payroll payment, which will justify the costs and deductions in the Income Tax and complementary taxes and deductible taxes in the Sales Tax -VAT.

4. Debt grew to 132% of the GDP in 2020.

Colombia did not remain oblivious to the international debt trend and its indicator rebounded to the equivalent of 132.2% of national GDP.
