Biosecurity protocols applicable to the operation of the transportation, transportation infrastructure and games of luck and chance sectors.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social) issued Resolutions 677, 679 and 681 adopting the biosecurity protocols for the control and management of COVID-19 risk in the above mentioned sectors. These protocols are complementary to the general biosecurity protocol adopted through Resolution 666 of 2020 and to other measures implemented by corresponding companies. More Information

 

Safety and health measures required for companies in the mining-energy industry.

As the country is slowing reactivating certain sectors of its economy, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (“Ministerio de Minas y Energía” or “MME”), together with the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social) detailed, among others, the following safety and health measures applicable to the mining-energy industry: (i) Prepare and present to the MME an operation protocol which includes measures to be adopted in order to deal with the COVID -19 pandemic (the “Protocol”); (ii) increase the frequency of a full cleaning and disinfection process of work tools and places normally used and; (iii) implement routine temperature takings at the entrance and exit of each shift of employees.More Information

 

New deadlines for companies to submit financial statements and other ordinary reports for the year 2019 to the Superintendence of Companies (Superintendencia de Sociedades).

Considering the extension of the isolation measure and the national emergency, the Superintendence of Companies issued new deadlines for, among others, submitting financial statements as of December 31st 2019, the consolidated and combined financial statements as of December 31st 2019 and sending the Report 42 Business Practices as of December 31st, 2019.More Information

 

Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio or “SIC”) suspended the terms of jurisdictional proceedings until May 30

Exceptions to the extension of the suspension of the terms of jurisdictional proceedings include: (i) ongoing jurisdictional consumer protection proceedings and (ii) actions filed online, since March the 17th, 2020. Likewise, among others the SIC indicated that communications should be filed by email in PDF format and notifications will be published on the Superintendence’s website.More Information

 

Summary on the protocols established for the reactivation of the construction sector.

Amidst of the slowly reactivation of the construction industry, several protocols were issued to mitigate, control, prevent the spread and properly manage the COVID-19 pandemic. Among others, construction companies must establish working hours between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and comply with all the biosecurity measures prior to initiate its operation. More Information
