1. Control and surveillance initiatives applicable to protect consumes on days without VAT.

External Circular No. 0006 of 2020, seeks to exhort territorial authorities with consumer protection functions, to carry out inspection and surveillance visits to guarantee the protection of consumer rights on the days without VAT established by Decree 682 of 2020.

2. The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce urges e-commerce companies to comply with the fundamental right of personal data protection in free VAT days.

Among others, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce(SIC)emphasizes that when personal data is collected, the owner must be informed of the reason why the information is being collected and if sensitive data is being gathered, special care must be taken in this process.

3. Bogotá's City Hall modifies the tax calendar

Through Decree 137 of June 3, 2020, the Mayor's Office of Bogotá modified the deadlines for declaring and paying property taxes.

 
4. New temporary VAT exemptions and exclusions have been issued.

Decree 789 of 2020 established transitional VAT benefits. These benefits were determined for chemical raw materials purchased for the purpose of producing medicines, franchise contracts and in the importation of public or private passenger and freight vehicles.

 5. Cultural industries, radio, television, and media activities have their own biosecurity protocol.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social) issued Resolution 957 of 2020, establishing the biosecurity protocol for cultural industries, radio, television, and media activities detailed in the International Standard Industrial Classification - ISIC 59, 62 and 90.

6. Return of football under strict biosecurity protocols.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social) issued Resolution 993 of 2020, adopting the biosecurity protocol for activities related to training and competition of professional footballers.
