The Federal Government has cut another $1.35 billion from its research and development tax incentive over the forward estimates, according to the Budget papers. Australian spending on public cloud services is forecast to grow 19% to A$6.5 billion in 2019, with software-as-a-service representing by far the largest proportion of spending, according to a newly published analyst report. Germany-based open source company SUSE says it has recorded a revenue rise of about 15% year-on-year during its last fiscal year, as an independent company and part as a public entity under the banner of British mainframe vendor Micro Focus. Communications service provider MyNetFone has launched a new solution which allows its Virtual PBX phone system to be operated via a mobile app, enabling access to the system by users on the move.
