The last time the price of ETH was above $500 was on July 18, 2018. Excitement has been building for the launch of Ethereum 2.0, a network upgrade which will move Ethereum to a proof-of-stake model. Bloomberg has reported that OKCoin founder Star Xu has resurfaced, weeks after being detained by police. According to Xu, he had been cooperating with law enforcement in an investigation relating to a previous OK Group merger. Xu's release has also coincided with the re-enabling of withdrawals on crypto exchange OKEx, which surprisingly claims to have no ties to Xu. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a non-action letter to social media platform IMVU, in response to their request for a launch of a stablecoin.
