Conference UK Market: Unlocking great potentials by leveraging advantages of the UKVFTA

Legal Update - 2022

Earlier this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade released the Draft Law on the protection of consumers’ rights (Draft Law) for public comments.

For the past few years, Vietnam has been a member of various international treaties, such as CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA, etc., many of which regulate the members’ commitment to policies to protect consumers’ rights and benefits. Therefore, it is essential to replace the current Law on Protection of Consumers’ Rights with a more updated one to be in line with the common interest of the international treaties.

In this legal update, we will set out specific noteworthy points of the Draft Law.

However, it would seem that the Government is now paying more attention to this in the light of a recent report, which highlighted “the number of projects with advanced and modern technology and European technology only accounted for approx. 5%…”
