This month had a definite regional feel, with the final stages of talks between the UK and the CPTPP group of countries in Phu Quoc the main headline. I was also very happy to welcome the ASEAN British Chambers to our regional conference in HCMC. The main focus was how we work together to add value to our members from a regional perspective (over 2,000 companies) and also use our joint resources to work with UK stakeholders and increase trade. The two day conference also included lunch with Mark Garnier, the UK Prime Ministers Trade Envoy to Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and Brunei. The March edition of the Keep Calm networking series was a bumper night with over 60 attendees, it was great to see a lot of new faces, we look forward to them becoming familiar ones! See you at the next Keep Calm event on Thursday 27th April! Matt RylandExecutive Director |

This year's VBF marked the 25th anniversary of its founding, with a theme of "Business community in partnership with the Government of Vietnam in fostering green growth”. The high-level session on March 19th was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who emphasized the importance of cooperation and dialogue in addressing challenges. BritCham assumed the co-chair role, with Nitin Kapoor as the new co-Chariman with VCCI President Pham Tan Cong. The technical sessions were productive, with issues raised in papers submitted by 11 working groups. The high-level session heard papers from six consortium members, including BritCham. Ministries responded collaboratively, and revisions of resolution 152, the land law, the Pharma law, and PPAs will address issues raised by BritCham, such as visas and TRCs.
