What the City of Brimbank is doing: Council plays a vital role in ensuring public health and will continue to monitor the situation, and take advice from the government health agencies daily to adjust to new information as it becomes available. This is a serious public health situation and the wellbeing of our community is our number one priority. During this time we may take longer to respond to unrelated service or maintenance requests. The health and safety of the community is Council’s number one priority. We have put in place a number of measures, ranging from cancelling events that would draw large numbers, to closing Council facilities that are high traffic zones. We’ve tried to strike a balance to ensure essential services can continue in a safe and responsible manner, and make sure supports are in place for the elderly and more vulnerable in our community. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by all these measures but we have a duty of care to our community and staff, and need to make sure we take appropriate measures to help limit the spread of the virus and support the required social distancing. For regular updates and information on Council facility closures visit Brimbank City Council. |
