All things COVID:

If you haven't been vaccinated against the coronavirus, BREC doesn't want you inside its buildings for more than 15 minutes. The city-parish park system announced today they would require masks of everyone who cannot prove they've been vaccinated.

Before the ink dried on that proclamation, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome held a news conference to address the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the city-parish but said she wouldn't go as far as BREC has gone. Still, she said, East Baton Rouge Parish residents need to seek vaccines if they haven't done so, if they are to put the pandemic behind.

To see how Louisiana and East Baton Rouge Parish are faring against the coronavirus, check out our numbers here.

Other things legislative:

Members of the Louisiana Legislature are back at the Capitol to do more things to us and for us. Here's the setup.

More things sweet:

Milkshakes with cupcakes on top? And cheesecake? And a big scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough? People are lining up out the door – even in the rain – to grab one of the decadent creations from the new The Yard Milkshake Bar, just opened by Marc and Tracy Couvillion. Read all about it here.

Stick with us today. There's a lot going on.
