| Hollywood averted a potentially debilitating writers' strike Monday, as the writers' union and a group of studios and networks agreed to a new pact as the previous one was about to expire at midnight PT. Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers spokesman Jarryd Gonzales said in a statement: "I can confirm we've reached a tentative agreement on terms for a new three-year collective bargaining agreement."
