A tentative deal has been reached in the East and Gulf Coast port labor talks.
The International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance agreed on terms for a new six-year contract Wednesday evening — a week before their master contract was set to expire on Jan. 15.
Although the deal still needs to be ratified by union and USMX members, an agreement removes the specter of another strike across East and Gulf Coast ports.
