Christmas relaxation will go ahead in Scotland 

...But there will be stronger warnings issued by the UK Government, it has been decided.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he did not want to "cancel Christmas" and instead called for people to exercise a "high degree of personal responsibility". 

This comes despite a series of warnings from medical experts over the impact of relaxing coronavirus restrictions over the festive period.

Thirty eight deaths recorded 

Meanwhile, 38 coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Scotland in the last 24 hours. 

That's according to Nicola Sturgeon, who announced the latest Covid-19 figures at her daily briefing this afternoon.
