His paintings are full of realistic details & loose flowing "glorious messes" that characterize the medium. "Watercolor allows me to get those happy accidents that are thrown down on paper articulating the form flawlessly - a miracle if there ever was one." Brad continues, "I want to entice your eye with realistic details so that when you really look closely - what you see is actually very abstract. I don't want my work to look like photographs - I want to draw you in, leaving you with something to chew on visually." After graduating from Herron School of Art, IUPUI with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications, he spent the next 28 years managing and owning various signage, printing & graphic arts companies. Brad was appointed to establish a Fishers Arts Council in 2005, serving in all officer positions including President. "In those early years we were asked by the Town to create something from nothing with no funding. We spent a lot of time getting to know our community bringing various groups together that were just doing their own things." further, "By the end of my tenure we had created a Master Plan, an art fair which drew 10K people and we had organizations within the Town & County working together for the first time in Fishers' cultural history." Brad says, "I have always made art but now is my time to show just what I got. I decided in 2017 to join some local artists' organizations and see if I had the chops to be a working artist." Having been juried into the Hamilton Co. Artist's Association, next he joined the Hoosier Art Salon, Nickel Plate Arts, Watercolor Society of Indiana, Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, and was juried into the Indiana Artists Club. "These groups helped lead me to various Juried Shows and Painting Competitions; and, I think I have done pretty well and learned so much along the way." Brad has received Honors and Awards from Indiana Artists Club, Hamilton Co. Parks, HCAA, SullivanMunce Center in Zionsville, Minnetrista Center & the Red Tail Conservancy in Muncie, the Brown County Artists Guild, T.C. Steele State Historic Site, Fort Wayne Artists Guild, the City of Carmel, Danville, IN's Gallery on the Square; and, has been included in the top juried shows in the State of Indiana such as the 94th & 96th Hoosier Art Salon at the Indiana State Museum, Whitewater Valley Competition in Richmond, OPEN SPACE: Art About the Land, and WSI Juried Show at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
