Boozy slushies, coconut cocktails and a cottage-country pit stop

Less than a year after taking over Cold Tea’s Kensington Market space, the Sunnys Chinese team has revived the courtyard patio, filling it with walk-in-only seats and serving a menu of snacks and cocktails, including boozy bubble tea and baijiu slushies. Plus, as a homage to the former occupant, every now and then the patio’s cold-pass kitchen will morph into a DJ booth.

It sure feels like the tropics out there, so we may as well drink accordingly. Fortunately, the city’s bars and the LCBO’s suppliers are really leaning in to coconut right now. Here’s where to find summery—but not sugary sweet—tropical sips.

The Pearl, Muskoka’s newest pit stop, is equal parts artisanal market and dine-in lunch spot, serving a menu of healthy-ish comfort food. In the evenings, it turns into a cocktail and snack bar (which is great news for any lucky cottagers within walking distance).
