The qualifying period for school board elections opens in three weeks, but we still don't know what East Baton Rouge's districts will look like, or even how many districts there will be. Will there be nine districts, or 11? Will this be solved before qualifying opens July 20?
And as of now there's a delay in setting state Supreme Court districts. Among the questions: A current justice wants to know what will happen when his term expires in January if he cannot put his name forward for re-election in November.
And a pair of LSU researchers want to know what's behind fecal contamination of two rivers in Tangipahoa Parish. No swimming is advised in the Natalbany and Yellow Water rivers (and no, that's not why they call it Yellow Water).
