GLOBAL: London-based online events platform Hopin has acquired event technology and mobile app company Topi. David Aubespin, Topi co-founder and CEO, will join as vice president of product, while fellow co-founder Eric Sellin will move into his role of principal engineer for the development of the mobile solutions. NATIONAL: CNBC has announced a series of 2021 virtual events, including the inaugural CNBC Evolve Global Summit on June 16, 2021. The new international event will include conversations on how companies can embrace change and reinvent their businesses for the new era. DUCK KEY, FLA: The annual Island Boat Show will take place Jan. 22-24 at Hawks Cay Resort. The open-air show will include boat brands and vendors such as Hell’s Bay Boatworks and Boats Direct USA, plus marine-related merchandise, silent auction items, and more. SAN DIEGO: The Jurassic Quest Drive Thru, billed as the nation’s largest touring dinosaur exhibit, will take over the Del Mar Fairgrounds from Jan. 1-10. It will then travel through Southern California in the months of January and February, stopping at the Rose Bowl Stadium, the OC Fair & Event Center, and the Fairplex.
SAN FRANCISCO: SF Sketchfest has announced Festpocalypse!, a virtual variety show fundraiser, will take place Jan. 30. The comedy event will feature sketch comedy, improv, game shows, musical performances, and more, with appearances from celebrities such as Bob Odenkirk, Jon Hamm, Jane Lynch, and Aisha Tyler. Tickets start at $20.
