Also: Ian McNulty on where to eat this November
By Bob Warren Ida's misery: As the region hits the two-months-after-Hurricane-Ida mark, our photographers fanned across the region to chronicle the recovery. It’s slow everywhere. And in some places, it hasn’t even really even started. Points spreads, betting lines: The New Orleans area ushered in sports betting Sunday. (The, ahem, legalized version anyway.) Check out the scene at Harrah’s, where the first bets were taken. Sports books at more Louisiana casinos will be coming on line soon, including Boomtown in Harvey and L’Auberge in Baton Rouge today. Saints Monday: Pretty amazing Saints game yesterday, no? So many Saints angles getting attention this morning. Dancing Saints. Demario Davis. Trevor Siemian . . .we could go on. The elation is tempered a bit, though. Jameis Winston went down early with a leg injury. And today the news is that his season appears over. Check out all our Saints coverage here. Where to Eat: How about a nice meal out? Or a few? Ian McNulty, our dining-out guru, thinks it’s time to revive the monthly roundup. Here are his eight picks for November. Bon appetit! Hope you enjoyed the Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us today. BW |
