A technical glitch at Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Zaif allowed customers to buy currencies, including the grandaddy of them all bitcoin, free.

Processor giant Intel has issued a second set of patches for two flaws, named Meltdown and Spectre which were publicly disclosed in January, after there were problems with the first set of patches issued last month.

One of the first alternative keyboards for Android, Swype, has been discontinued without much fanfare.

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has taken the opportunity to offer "free screen repairs for the first six months on its latest R11s and R11s Plus devices" in an attempt to up the customer service ante.

Trend Micro has patched 10 vulnerabilities in its Email Encryption Gateway product that could be used for remote exploits, but left two others unpatched.
