This year's event was special. While the industry suffered a maelstrom of events that left many of the businesses and ventures in the industry suffering, the bitcoin industry specifically rebounded quickly. 

Throughout the event, it was obvious that people had been working heads down to build beautiful products and companies that Bitcoiners will love.

In addition, the speakers this year exuded the confidence and energy that proved the hype and excitement behind bitcoin has not died.

In every handshake and greeting, in every moment of laughter shared by the audience from wisecracking speakers at the Nakamoto Stage, you could tell that the spirit of Bitcoin is alive — and it's only getting started.

"One thing we agree on is that central bank digital currencies are going to increase problems that we see with a broken fiscal and monetary policy system. And they also exacerbate very legitimate privacy concerns that we all have."

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who recently confirmed that he is still getting paid in bitcoin, took the stage at Bitcoin 2023 Saturday morning to discuss CBDCs, Bitcoin and the future. 

“The future of this country is bright," Mayor Suarez said. "Don’t let anyone say otherwise. Because the next era of innovation will be dominated by technologies like Bitcoin.”

The World’s Largest Bitcoin Conference Will Take Place In Nashville For 2024

The Bitcoin Conference is scheduled to take place in Nashville, Tennessee, from July 25-27, 2024. As we shift from Miami to the heart of Bitcoin, we hope to see all of the excited Bitcoiners there next year.
