There aren't many things we can do these days, but getting outside and hiking is one of them. And according to Mary Jo, one reason being outdoors makes us feel so good is the sound of birds. In a study, hikers who heard secret recordings of birds had "higher current level of well-being relative to those that did not hear the birdsong." Hmm, I wonder what happens if you pipe bird songs into our homes, if it has the same effect. Perhaps that's why there are so many bird songs on Spotify.
