Could this be our new ocean baths pavilion?

The City of Newcastle is looking for a commercial partner to redevelop the city's ageing ocean baths at Newcastle and Merewether beaches.
It has divided public opinion, with many keen to see new change rooms and other facilities, while others have baulked at the modern designs released by council to spark discussion.

Home invasion murder trial begins

The trial of a Newcastle man accused of murdering a home invader who broke into his house at Hamilton began this week. The Supreme Court heard Benjamin Batterham was annoyed but had no intention of killing the intruder, Richard Slater.
