International network for
contemporary performing arts

Join our two live IETM events this Autumn!

We are thrilled to announce our Plenary Meeting in Lyon (21-24 October 2021) and our Satellite Girona (25-27 November 2021)!

There is an IETM meeting for every taste this Autumn. In Lyon, participants will be shaping the meeting and will be able to co-create the discussions at the beginning of each day. In Girona, we will discover emerging and innovative projects and will be guided into specific thematic threads by a trio of facilitators.

Both meetings will happen on site and will also allow online participants to actively take part in the meeting activities. Find more information about each event below. You can already register for our Satellite Girona and save the date for IETM Lyon 2021!

IETM Plenary Meeting in Lyon – Open Forum – 21-24 October 2021

Trans-missions is the main concept of our next Autumn Plenary Meeting in Lyon from 21 to 24 October 2021. Co-organised by a diverse – and to a large extent volunteer – team of artists, cultural professionals and students, it will be experimental, unpredictable and audacious. It will also mix physical and digital means to allow everyone to actively take part in the discussions.

IETM Lyon 2021 will be organised as an Open Forum that will provide a free space to invent, together, processes, methods and other modes of transfer which can serve our performing arts ecosystem. We will make sure there will be ample space for informal networking and exchange. And it will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our network, which held its first formal meeting in France in 1981.

IETM Satellite Girona – 25-27 November 2021

Co-organised by Institut Català de Les Empreses Culturals - Catalan Arts and Institut Ramon Llull, in collaboration with the Temporada Alta Festival and the Girona City Council, our next Satellite Meeting will be held from 25-27 November 2021 in Girona. We will collectively reflect on how we can build on what we have learned and think of new ways to reposition the arts as a relevant agent for social change.

Participants will be able to follow one of three different thematic threads, each exploring a particular space for social change: 1. New funding schemes and cultural policies, 2. Alternative models for the international and 3. Opportunities for artistic innovation. The Satellite will also offer a rich artistic programme and will allow online participants to take part in the meeting activities.

The meeting has a capacity of 120 participants on-site and 120 participants online (first come, first served!).

Call for project presentation
The Satellite Meeting will offer a space to present innovative cultural or artistic projects that are linked to the three thematic threads of the meeting. If you'd like to present a project at the Satellite Girona, find out more about the call and apply before 9 July on this page.

Pre- and post-meeting trips
In order to learn more about Girona's creative network, the Satellite will also propose a pre-meeting trip on 25 November to discover some projects around the city of Girona (Olot, Banyoles, Mieres), as well as a post-meeting trip on 28 November to another part of the outskirts of Girona, Celrá. Save the dates!
