Get Notified When Beth Posts New Art BiographyI was born and raised in Atlanta, and still live in the area. My parents had always been avid admirers and collectors of fine art, and, in his later years, my architect father more than held his own as a gifted watercolor artist. I adopted my parents' passion for art as I was growing up, and made creating it myself a cornerstone of my life. I set off to Auburn University for formal graphic and fine arts training where my favorite classes were oil painting, even though I believed at the time that I would only ever earn a living as a graphic artist in the advertising business. I actually did work in the advertising agency world for several years and continued to casually paint -- more as an outlet for needed relaxation -- until life called and my focus shifted to raising my children. Even though my hands were full with active family life, I found some time now and again for the mind-clearing focus that painting always provided. My artist journey took an unexpected turn while spending time in my children's school helping with art projects. That's when I experienced the excitement of young students proudly creating their own art. This piqued an interest in art education, and I returned to school to complete my Art Education Certification from Berry College. I became an art educator and remained one for many years. I primarily taught elementary-aged students, but also spent many years working with special needs children in grades pre-k through 12. Among my many satisfying experiences as an art educator were those when a parent or former student -- sometimes many years removed from my class -- approached me at an unexpected time or place and shared with me how they were now pursuing their own passion for fine art. I hope my appreciation for color and texture is evident in my modern impressionist style. I draw much of my inspiration from quietly observing the nuances of the sea and sky. I am blessed to have my work find an increasing number of owners and collectors across the country, and hope my paintings are enjoyed as much as I enjoy creating them. Artistic vision: engage and be enjoyed Typical style: blends of modern impressionism and abstract Typical medium: oil on canvas; no favored color palette Typical subject: varies, but draw inspiration from the sea and sky Typical sizes: up to 48" canvas, but can go larger Learn More About Beth Schneider Paffenback Who Does Kevin Macpherson Trust with His Website?
