“We are losing Muskoka”
Roger Oatley, a semi-retired personal injury lawyer, was driving his boat past Sugarloaf Island to his summer home when he noticed a huge gap of missing trees along the island’s shoreline. The opening revealed that a massive chunk of Canadian Shield had been blasted to bits. He thought it looked like a quarry right in the middle of Lake Joseph.
It wasn’t. It was ground zero for Toronto real estate developer Joe Azouri’s Muskoka mansion, and now his neighbours are doing everything they can to stop him.
