It's a busy news day in South Louisiana. Let's take a spin through some of our latest headlines …

Rap sheet

The feds descended on a house in Miami this week to arrest a pair of Baton Rouge rappers, including one out on a staggering $1.82 million bond. The raid comes after authorities linked Lit Yoshi to an April 2020 shooting in Slidell and months after a local judge admonished him for treating house arrest as a "paid vacation."

Reporters Lea Skene and Elyse Carmosino bring us the latest in this Baton Rouge rap drama.

Baton Rouge mulls building ban

Frustrations over flooding have East Baton Rouge leaders talking about taking a page from neighboring parishes by putting a pause on new construction. The details are TBD.

But here's what we know about those discussions so far.

In the zone

Speaking of building rules, Livingston Parish are poised to adopt zoning laws for the first time ever. It's the most concerted effort to date in a place where development has historically been unimpeded. The latest push to enact land-use regs stems from some of the same concerns driving the building moratoriums elsewhere in the region: flooding and a surge in new construction.

James Finn has the scoop.

Thanks for reading, and have a a great morning!
