Lecture The Remarkable Career of the Aphrodite Anadyomene Sunday, Nov. 4, 2:00 PM Free/limited seating - Priority to CAM and NCMA members This special lecture live via the NCMA honors the memory of its first curator of ancient art, Mary Ellen Soles (1948-2018), sponsored by the NCMA Friends of Greek Art. A specialist in ancient Greek art, Soles was curator for 28 years before her retirement in 2010. The speaker is Rachel Kousser, professor at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center, City University of New York. The CAM Cafe will be open 11 AM - 2 PM beforehand for brunch. |

Families Clyde's Holiday By The Sea Saturday, Nov. 17, 11AM - 2PM Clyde Jones is recognized for his wooden creations better known as "critters," and his work has been on display at the Smithsonian Institute and the American Visionary Art Museum. His home in Bynum, NC, which is decorated with paintings of sea creatures and large penguins, bears a large yellow sign outside that reads "Critter Crossing." He comes to the Cameron Art Museum every holiday season to make critters with our community. No pre-registration necessary. Parental supervision required at all times. Suggested donation of $5 per child. |
