Good morning Valued Subscriber,
A hospital cardiologist who was suspended from working for Canberra Health Services two years ago has regained the right to work there. Steve Evans and Lucy Bladen report on the end of a legal saga involving Dr Muayad Alasady, who took Canberra Health Services to the Federal Court. The parties have now settled, meaning the cardiologist can return to work. They may make for a lovely scene at Mount Stromlo, but the resident kangaroos are proving a worry for some cyclists. Lucy Arundell reports on concerns from cyclists on the criterium track who say hitting a bounding roo is like riding into a moving log. And independents standing for the ACT Assembly are pushing for an inquiry into the territory's justice system. Lucy Bladen reports the Independents for Canberra candidates want an inquiry into rates of reoffending, youth offending, police resources, justice reinvestment, bail and Canberra's jail. And in Food & Wine today, Amy Martin looks at how a beloved restaurant taught Canberrans to love Chinese food, and Jasper Lindell tries Lambshed's in Yarralumla in this week's review. Today's weather continues a build up through the week. After an overnight low of -2.4, we'll have a mostly sunny day and a top of 19.
