An IT worker has been paid US$650 by Microsoft after he threatened to sue the company following a forced upgrade to his grandfather's computer that was running Windows 7.

China passed a national security law that calls for technology that supports crucial sectors of the economy and government to be "secure and controllable." Optus has upped the ante in the battle by telcos for the hearts and minds of mobile phone and broadband users, giving mobile and fixed broadband customers new content as part of their entertainment packages and a boost to their mobile TV streaming service, including free access to Yes TV by subscription TV provider Fetch Entertainment.
