| | | | Morgan State's major gain Welcome to Tuesday, Baltimore. Up at our very own Morgan State University (MSU), the school's National Science Foundation CREST program just earned a massive $5 million grant. "What's it for?" you might wonder. Well, the university is establishing a brand-new research and education hub at MSU's School of Computer, Mathematical & Natural Sciences. This new hub will focus on advanced magnets and semiconductors. Imagine all the high-tech stuff they can do with that! Plus, it's a big win for MSU, being Maryland's largest historically Black university.
Over the next five years, the CREST Center at MSU will be a buzzing hive of activity. It's planning to run new graduate programs and host all kinds of exciting events like seminars and symposia. And the best part? It's also reaching out to the community with STEM educational outreach programs. This means more talented graduates and a diverse high-tech workforce in the making!
The center will also run summer institutes for high school students and science teachers — talk about inspiring the next generation!
