Technical.ly Baltimore logo and tagline: News for technologists and entrepreneurs

Happy Thursday, Baltimore. In a few minutes, I'll be heading around the harbor to catch a tech roundtable featuring at least one mayoral candidate. Look for more on that in the coming days.

In the meantime, with Alanah out on vacation, I'll highlight two articles worth checking out today: Her tweets-based chronicle of Baltimore's tech ecosystem and communities since 2009, as part of our 15th anniversary; and another recent piece on several local-ish Regeneron Science Talent Search finalists. Check 'em both out below, and have a lovely weekend!

Baltimore history in 15 tweets: Ravens Super Bowl to Freddie Gray and beyond

In continued commemoration of our 15th anniversary, Baltimore reporter Alanah Nichole Davis found some of our, your and other local notables' tweets that collectively paint a picture of what the city's experienced since 2009. Take a look:

There's $1.8M up for grabs through the Regeneron STS

A trio of brilliant high schoolers, one from Philly and two from Northern Virginia, spoke to Technical.ly about the innovations that made them finalists in the Regeneron Science Talent Search. Organized by the DC-based Society for Science, the over-80-year-old annual contest celebrates some of the country's best STEM students. For their research and projects tackling the world's most urgent issues, from our own minds to our solar system's furthest reaches, students and their schools can win thousands of dollars in funding.

Meet the three students who spoke to us, and check out links in the article to find out about more finalists (including one from Ellicott City, if you can find them). And if you want to meet these bright youngsters, read the article for more info about a March 10 event in DC.
