| | Solar power Groundswell, with offices in DC, is best known for managing community solar projects. The the environmental advocacy nonprofit just secured $400,000 from Wells Fargo for a new solar installation at the City of Refuge Community Resiliency Hub in South Baltimore. This project features a 110 kW solar installation and 372 kWh of battery storage, providing reliable power during emergencies and aiding community recovery. Groundswell's team said they collaborated with community leaders to address neighborhood needs in an area where many residents live below the poverty level. The initiative was made possible through grants from the Maryland Energy Administration, financing from Rochdale Capital, and ongoing support from the Baltimore Office of Sustainability. It also involved SunCatch Energy, a fourth-generation Black-owned business experienced in solar installations.
