The smell is even worse today: If you’re smelling smoke around metro New Orleans today – oh, and you are -- you can thank the swamp fires and an unkind shift in the wind direction. Social media was chock-a-block this morning with accounts of people smelling smoke inside their homes. Time to break out the masks? Salty: The threat of salt water flowing through taps in New Orleans and Jefferson has diminished. But folks in lower Plaquemines Parish have dealt with salt water for months and there's an awful lot of frustration, Faimon Roberts reports. Vince Vance v. Mariah Carey: Vince Vance is suing pop superstar Mariah Carey again over the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” song. Vance contends Carey is violating a copyright of an older song that he co-wrote, our music guy Keith Spera reports. Closed, then open: On Thursday came the news that the French Quarter restaurant Saint John was closing, its owner citing myriad frustrations.
