Our monthly guide provides a regular update on our supplier lead times to help you plan your project. The May edition is now available here.
Avnet Abacus has seen the overall market tightening across most product lines, due to stronger demand and logistics challenges. This is creating significant lead-time increases, which are accelerating fast.
Heavily affected product areas are tantalum, polymer and electrolytic capacitors, with lead times reaching up to a year. Supply on SMD resistors and MLCCs is also tightening.
Avnet Abacus has already started to build up sufficient inventory and pipeline to ensure a robust supply chain. However, we recommend that our customers firm up backlog where possible to minimise the impact, and to better enable our suppliers to maximise capacity and efficiencies to serve the market.
