Busy is an understatement! We’ve got four sets of brilliant auction results to share with you following our hugely successful run of sales that have taken place over the past two weeks Kicking off we had our bi-annal Timed Modern Fine & Decorative Art sale which ended on the 8th November. Highlights included a signed Lowry print titled ‘The Beach’ which realised a hammer price of £2550 + BP and a dramatic oil on canvas by Michael James Whitehead of Britannia rounding the Needles which sailed away for £1500 + BP. Following quickly we had our bi-monthly Antiques & Interiors live auction which proved good quality named furniture is still very much coveted with a Clive Christian twin pedestal dining table, a set of eight chairs and a sideboard making a combined hammer total of £6350 + BP. Chasing at its tails we held our ever popular stand alone book auction, with highlights including a stunningly illustrated edition of The Brothers Grimm that reached £1650 +BP and a rare first edition of The True Prophecies or Prognostications of Michael Nostradamus sold for £3000 +BP. Not content with leaving it at that we also held our Timed Asian Art auction which attracted bidders from all around the globe, the top spot going to an intricate Anglo Indian three piece silver tea service that finally settled at £3050 + BP following a highly contested bidding war. There’s no rest for the wicked though with our final auction of the year, the Christmas Fine Art, Antiques and Jewellery sale, coming very soon! We wouldn’t have it any other way though and can’t wait to start seeing and cataloguing more treasures for 2023! |
