As we begin to put the cold and wet weather behind us we’re looking forward to our first auction of Spring. Summing up this new season and all the wonders it brings we have a beautiful collection of botanical watercolours. There are 47 in total, each depicting a different garden flower, plant or orchid. Valued between £400-600 they are sure to perform well as such examples are often exhibited in popular interior design magazines. Also within the paintings section we are excited to be offering a charming watercolour of a Welsh Pony by renowned artist Sir Kyffin Williams OBE. Estimated between £2000-3000 this characterful depiction is bound to capture more than one heart. Within the ceramics offered we have an unusual Worcester ‘William Pitt (Earl of Chatham)' mug or tankard dating from around 1760. Always appealing to collectors, it’s being offered for sale with an estimate of £1000-1500. Watches and Clocks also deliver some star lots. A gentleman's stainless steel Rolex GMT Master automatic wristwatch, desirable in it’s own right, but enhanced by its connection to maritime explorer Vital Alsar, is estimated between £12,000-18,000 and keeping with the maritime theme, an unusual tidal dial longcase clock by Thomas Gilmour is expected to achieve in the region of £5000-7000. Finally, within the jewellery and silver section, not only do we have a stunning single stone diamond ring valued at £6000-8000 but we are also delighted to be offering an exquisite 18ct gold and enamel Faberge surprise egg. Just in time for the Easter festivities this exceptional piece, which hides a small bear eating honey within, is being offered for £4000-6000.
