Mueller's investigators have interviewed the attorney general in connection with an investigation into Russian activity during the 2016 election and whether President Trump sought to obstruct justice. Sessions, who was accompanied by his private attorney Charles Cooper, was questioned for several hours, said Justice spokesman Ian Prior, who declined to elaborate on the nature of the questioning. The attorney general is the first Trump cabinet official known to be interviewed by Mueller's team.
