Part of The Webby Awards’ mission is to educate their wider community on the biggest trends and challenges that are defining the Internet, and our world. As a Netted reader, we invite you to attend some of The Webbys’ upcoming virtual events this month. Their first virtual event of 2022 is UNPCKD: Essentials for an Inclusive Internet on January 11th at 3pm EST. Launched in partnership with the NAACP, the series explores pressing issues facing communities of color online, and provides actionable steps to build more inclusive digital spaces. Their second event is the Way Too New Virtual Event Series on January 18th at 3pm EST. It explores the biggest innovations we cover in this year’s Webby Talks presentation, and what it means for the future of digital. They will be joined by Claire Graves, President of The Webby Awards to explore Fingerspelling.xyz, a web-based experience you can access on your computer that takes advantage of machine learning and computer vision software to make the process of learning American Sign Language easy and engaging.
