AT&T’s network went down for a lot of its customers across the U.S. last Thursday, preventing people from making calls, sending messages, and using the internet. The company said in a message on Saturday that it wants to "help make it right" by giving something back to affected customers, and so will apply a credit to their accounts that’s equivalent to “the average cost of a full day of service,” which AT&T puts at $5. Some customers are pretty annoyed at the offer, so we may not have heard the last of this. Those entitled to the credit should receive it automatically within two bill cycles, but if it doesn't show up then contact AT&T customer support to ensure you get the $5 to which you’re entitled ... |

Remember when you could change the faceplate on old Nokia phones? Well, Xiaomi has updated that feature for 2024 and applied it to a smartwatch instead. On the new Xiaomi Watch S3 (announced at MWC 2024), you can twist and remove the bezel around the screen and replace it with another for a new look, then see the watch face automatically switch to an exclusive one that complements it. You can also match it with a new strap. The options include Chrome Yellow, Rainbow, Dual-tone Ceramic, and an Ocean Blue color schemes, along with at least black and off-white color straps, meaning you really will be able to change the entire look of the watch quite easily ... |

A major theme for this year already appears to be transparency, with staple brands such as Samsung and LG showcasing their see-through products — the transparent micro-LED display and the Signature OLED T transparent TV, respectively — at CES 2024 last month. Now, Lenovo is giving the industry a look at its ThinkBook Transparent Display laptop, a proof of concept that’s the highlight of its presentation at MWC this week.
