HEADLINES: This week we focus on the International North-South Transportation Corridor, which links India via Iran through to Turkey, Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. It will profoundly change the trade dynamics of South Asia and reconnect India and Bangladesh with Western and Central Asia for the first time since 1947. We look at the opportunities this presents for India and Bangladesh. China has released two important compliance notices that foreign investors need to be aware of, one as concerns the new anti-Western sanctions law, and the other concerning China's social credit system - which also extends to foreign investors. We discuss the steps to take to ensure compliance. Indonesia has been attracting a great deal of foreign investment in the past two years, with huge development plans, an increasingly wealthy consumer market and a dynamic and attractive investment regime. We look at the incentives provided by the new Indonesia-Singapore DTA and provide blueprints for establishing a business in the country. In India, whose GDP is growing this year at over 9%, we look at the best practices for India import and export. This is important intelligence for UK and EU businesses whose recent trade agreements are now facilitating increasing trade and investment. Finally, we look at China's upcoming free trade agreements and the expected impact of RCEP and a coming deal with the Eurasian Economic Union.
