Recently reviewed research put the age of one mound at about 11,000 years ago, or long-ago enough to be considered the oldest man-made structure in the Americas. Evidence includes ash and an alignment with what was then the brightest object in the northern sky. And to think, a lot of use used to study on them. Education officials want to see more details about plans for Capitol High. The campus has been under state control for 14 years. Before it is turned over for local control, officials at the state want to know more about what is planned.
