Time for a reset?

After communication breakdowns among Ascension leaders over flood-protection issues, the parish president says they need to "hit the reset button."

Clint Cointment offered the conciliatory words a day after meeting with a handful of council members to reach a compromise on how to manage the parish's drainage projects. 

Reporter David Mitchell brings us the latest in the drainage drama.

On a related note, Ascension's Planning Commission will reconsider two controversial new neighborhoods a day before the parish's building moratorium goes into effect. Here's what we know about the proposals coming before the commission Wednesday.

When folks go to Dearman's, they want hamburgers, nectar sodas and to make sure Chantay Eackels is behind the stove. The burgers and nectar sodas have been there since the restaurant opened as a lunch counter in 1958. Miss Chantay has been there 38 years, and all three are important parts of the popular diner.
