Rethink your relationship with nature at Dulwich Picture Gallery Think you know landscape art? Think again. One of south London's loveliest galleries presents a radical reinterpretation of the genre, with more than 30 works by contemporary artists from the African diaspora. Here till 2 June, this is Soulscapes. Inspired by our connection with the world around us, the exhibition invites you to explore how our ‘natural’ surroundings might be informed by aspects of your own identity — from gender, to personal history, to cultural values and beliefs. Soulscapes spans painting, photography, film, textile and collage, featuring major artists including Hurvin Anderson, Isaac Julien and Phoebe Boswell along with emerging talents like Njideka Akunyili Crosby and Michaela Yearwood-Dan. What's more, your Soulscapes ticket includes entry to Dulwich Picture Gallery's permanent collection and current displays (read on for more info on those). There's a cafe onsite so you can really make a day of it, and the gallery sits in three acres of lush gardens bordering Dulwich Park — perfect for reconnecting with nature after your visit! |
