CMS requires SNFs to complete an advance beneficiary notice (ABN) to inform a patient when services that could be covered by Medicare will likely not be covered due to not meeting SNF coverage criteria. A SNF may be financially liable for services that are not covered by Medicare if the facility fails to complete an ABN properly or timely.

This complimentary 60-minute webinar will educate SNF staff on how to appropriately complete ABNs. Stefanie Corbett, DHA, HCPro’s postacute regulatory specialist, will teach participants how to avoid Medicare claim denials and provide insight on dealing with common scenarios, challenges, and errors.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Implement a practical process for properly notifying beneficiaries of Medicare non-coverage
  • Implement a practical process to reduce the number of Medicare claim denials due to invalid ABNs
