| Dear readers,
We take pride in this extra edition of Poetry International Archives News, which aims to point out to you the Explore Dutch Poetry program that Poetry International is focusing on this June. Sure, there is no shortage of words these days. Facebook posts, Twitter feeds, talk shows, and press conferences provide us with words of assurance and guidance, connecting us to reality. How fortunate we are that besides all these claims to the truth and broad dissemination of firmly entrenched beliefs, other words do exist. And how fortunate it is that we may also find new insights and beauty by embracing ambiguity and doubt. These are all matters that are needed now more than ever, and none better in offering you this than the arts, than poetry.
This is why this June Poetry International hands you the antibodies for an overly clogged thought pattern, presenting to you the work of contemporary Dutch poets who are writing and engaged in this day and age. New Dutch poetry in English translation, built from adventure and current events. Throughout the coming weeks we will upload plenty of new and renewed poet profiles, poems and translations. You may also check us out on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for our latest updates. Enjoy. Explore Dutch Poetry! | |
