Here at Bench, we've been through it all from forest fires to global pandemics and it's during these times that we continue to be thankful for the continued support of our club members, customers and our hard working Bench team. It's with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to long time Winemaker and good friend Valeria Tait. She has been with Bench since 2012 when it first open it's doors to the public. Her vision for this winery was to create vineyard focused wines and to help educate everyone she met about the Okanagan terroir and its impact on wine. We wish her and partner, Ian Sutherland, the best with their next journey as they begin their own wine venture together. Celebrate National Chardonnay Day on May 21st with a special Library collection from Bench 1775. We've curated this vintage flight of 2014, 2015 & 2016 Post Modern Chardonnay just for you! If you've ever wondered what a Post Modern Chardonnay is, let us indulge you. Post Modern is a combination of two different wine making methods. You have traditional method which uses oak and a modern method where the wine sits in tank. Our team put 15% of the Chardonnay juice into French oak for 3 months while the other 85% sat in stainless steel tank. Once those 3 months ended, the oaked wine was blended into the stainless tanks. The resulting Chardonnay has nice structure, velvet buttery flavours with bright acids. Included in this bundle:
