April's Mixtape 🌺 50 days to go!

Now the countdown begins in all seriousness: there are only 50 days left until the festival and we are already fully in our favourite season, spring 💐

To pay tribute to our favorite season, the April mixtape is loaded with a lot of surprises: from an interview with Guillem Gisbert to the latest music news, the details of the girl in red tour that will be stopping by Barcelona this September and the print that the wonderful Cristina Daura has designed for us to celebrate the arrival of spring!

Where to start? With Hoy, which is not yet an indie hit in Spanish, but it will be.

What you should know: When a band entrenches itself for ten years in a specific style (psycho-sweet indie, in cloudy skies and coils of guitars), it means that theirs is not a whim, but a way of understanding art and, probably, life. On their latest album, Presentimiento, the Valencians achieve the exact degree of draw and density that songs need to last over time and not be diluted in these times of the dictatorship of the ephemeral.

What you don't necessarily need to know, but it's cool: Presentimiento's producer, Santi García, convinced Almirante not to bury his voice and to trust in the seductive power of the whisper in the foreground. He also convinced him not to dub the voices ("When he listens to a singer, he wants to hear a James Brown" said Santi, while laughing).

Why are they at Primavera Sound? Because this kind of rock with a tendency towards long, noisy, psychedelic elaboration spreads very well over the surface of the Parc del Fòrum.

Guillem Gisbert, singer of Manel, debuts his solo career with “Balla la masurca!”, a collection of brilliant, suggestive and unpredictable songs that consolidate him, in case anyone still had any doubts, as the most lucid voice on the Catalan contemporary scene.

Everything has gone so fast for girl in red that, paradoxically, those first singles are already a long way off. So far away that the bedroom pop label has become obsolete along the way and she, on the other hand, after the confirmation in the form of her first album, if i could make it go quiet, has already become a new generational star with a language of her own. After opening for Taylor Swift on several dates of the Eras Tour, girl in red will give her first concert in Barcelona on 16th September at the Sant Jordi Club as part of the world tour to present I'M DO IT AGAIN BABY!, her second album.
