Covid-19 is confronting both citizens and public authorities with a situation which was so far unknown by the present generations. Yet, as most critical situations, this time brings in both challenges and opportunities. To discuss these issues the ICC team has convened all ICC member cities to an online meeting on 23 April. | |

In February 2020 the ICC completed the member survey 2020, identifying thematic areas on which the member cities would like to contribute in the upcoming years. The results displayed common areas of concern and priorities. The document will guide the work of the ICC during 2020. | |

Report of the Intercultural Integration Academy in Morocco | |

The report of the Intercultural Integration Academy held in Marrakech, Morocco on 18-19 February 2020 has been published. The Academy gathered 30 participants from Morocco, Jordan, Palestine* and Tunisia. This time the Academy focused on policy-making and strategies for the intercultural city as well as the anti-rumours methodology. | |

ECRI calls on Switzerland to improve support for victims of racism, and praises the policies adopted at the local level by the cantons of Neuchâtel and Geneva | |

In a report published on 19 March, the Council of Europe’s Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) calls on Switzerland to increase funding and human resources for counselling centres for victims of racism, to deal more effectively with discrimination and to promote integration. | |

The first meeting of the Intercultural Regionsâ network took place online | |

On 23 March the ICC programme and the Intercultural Regions’ network had their first meeting online. Participants included representatives of nine regions from Sweden, Italy, Norway, Spain, and Romania, as well as representatives of the Assembly of European Regions and the ICC Team. | |
