Most mainstream retailers don’t carry sizes above 14, meaning “plus-sized” women are often left looking to specialty retailers. And, according to Universal Standard Founder Alexandra Waldman, the pickings are slim. And while her apparel brand was designed to give plus-sized shoppers actual choices, she says it isn’t a plus-size clothing brand.
