Hackers are swiping Google passwords from Chrome users

But there's action you can take to prevent it happening

Hackers are swiping passwords from Google accounts in Chrome using a method that targets the official Google sign-in page, Digital Trends reported.

Discovered by researchers at OALabs, the attack locks you into the Chrome browser at the Google sign-in page, preventing an easy exit. It then deploys a piece of malware called StealC to swipe your credentials as you’re signing in.

But another concern is that Google accounts are often tied to many other accounts, so an attacker with your Google credentials may be able to access your other accounts, too. But there’s action that you can take ...

Apple forced to halt its iPadOS 18 update for M4 Pro tablet

Folks with Apple’s latest Pro tablet should avoid installing iPadOS 18 for now

Apple has paused the rollout of the iPadOS 18 update for the M4 iPad Pro just a day after its release after some owners complained that it had bricked their device, Digital Trends reported.

Following multiple reports from disgruntled users, Apple decided to pull the update, saying: “We have temporarily removed the iPadOS 18 update for M4 iPad Pro models as we work to resolve an issue that is impacting a small number of devices.”

User reports suggest that both 11-inch and 13-inch models of Apple’s latest Pro tablet are affected by the problematic update. Major software updates often come with unexpected bugs, but cases of brand-new devices becoming unusable are rare ...

Snap’s new AR Spectacles are 'amazing' but 'extremely goofy'

Those wanting the smart specs now will have to pay $99 a month for a year as part of an agreement to join the Spectacles Developer Program

Snap has just unveiled the latest version of its augmented-reality Spectacles and MIT Technology Review has had a chance to try them out.

“It all worked together impressively well ... with some glitches here and there,” MIT’s reporter said, adding that while large, “they’re not the silliest computer I have put on my face.”

A Snap executive said that the new smart specs are aiming for “computing overlaid on the world that enhances our experience of the people in the places that are around us, rather than isolating us or taking us out of that experience” ...

Woman of the Hour lands on Netflix on October 18

Netflix has just dropped a high-tension teaser (above) for its upcoming true-life thriller, Woman of the Hour.

Skate to finally launch into early access 5 years after it was announced

Electronic Arts has revealed that the free-to-play Skate will finally be ready for the public next year

It’s taken a while, but Electronic Arts (EA) has finally announced that its new Skate game is hitting early access in 2025, Digital Trends reported.

The team behind Skate said on X (formerly Twitter) that it's "incredibly stoked" about the early access release, adding that it’ll share more details on what to expect in the coming months. This is a major development for the long-dormant skateboarding game series, which has been on hiatus since 2010. After initially saying that it had no plans to make Skate 4, EA announced in 2020 that a new Skate game was in development.
