Apple 'will need more talent' to bring a meaningful robot to market

Successful robot could help company break into smart home sector

Apple’s interest in home robotics is part of efforts to come up with its next big thing, but it could be many years before a truly revolutionary device emerges, according to remarks made by reliable Apple tipster Mark Gurman, who added that the company will need more talent to make it happen.

“Apple is still in the early stages of figuring out the best way to use roboticism,” Gurman said. “The test case will be a tabletop device code-named J595 that brings together a large, iPad-like display with cameras and a base that features a robotic actuator. That product likely will arrive around 2026 or 2027, followed by mobile robots and possibly even humanoid models in the next decade” ...

iPhone 16 gets a rumored release date

Apple will reportedly unveil the iPhone 16 on September 10, but when will you be able to find it in stores?

Apple is about to show off the latest iteration of the iPhone, with tipster Mark Gurman (yes, him again!) suggesting that the tech giant is preparing an unveil event for September 10.

While preorders are likely to begin on September 13, Gurman claims that in line with tradition, the new phone will hit stores and begin sales starting the second Friday after the event, which would be September 20.

Rumors suggest that a new Capture Button will appear on all four models (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max), with larger displays and upgraded camera sensors also expected. Oh, and possibly that new color, too ...

Deadpool & Wolverine wins weekend box office after a week off

But which of the new movies performed best?

After being knocked off the top spot last weekend by Alien: Romulus, Deadpool & Wolverine recaptured the title of the most popular movie in North America on its fifth weekend of release, raking in $18.3 million. On its second weekend of release, Alien: Romulus placed second with $16.2 million in ticket sales, while It Ends with Us generated $11.8 million on its third weekend.

Among the newcomers, it was the psychological thriller Blink Twice that pulled in the most punters, with the Zoë Kravitz-directed movie generating $7.3 million in revenue, Entertainment Weekly reported. In fifth spot was Lionsgate’s R-rated reboot of The Crow, which managed only $4.6 million in debut sales. The movie cost $50 million to make ...

Valve's Deadlock has finally been officially announced

Thousands of players have actually been testing the game since it landed on Steam at the end of April

Following a string of leaks, Valve has made the decision to officially announce Deadlock, PC Gamer reported.

But there was no great fanfare involved, with the Seattle-based company simply dropping a message online that said: “Deadlock is in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay. Access is currently limited to friend invite via our playtesters.” It also included an animated teaser image and a note pointing out that the game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system to play.

As for the official release date, well, that’s “to be announced,” according to Valve ...
